Let's cut to the chase, shall we? There is a miriad of options when it comes to trying to make money from your website or blog. The choices can be overwhelming if you try to take it all in. I have tried a great many affiliate programs, most to little or no success. A few however, have risen above the rest to produce results. I have found the following three affiliate programs to be the most lucrative. These three are currently making money for me, and if used on your website or blog, they can make money for you too.

Choosing an affiliate program (simplified):
1. Affiliate has products or services relavant to your website topic.
2. Affiliate has proven track record of results.
3. Consider the affiliate's website...would you shop there?

Google Adsense

             
Probably the most well known advertiser on the web is also clearly one of the best. Adsense offers ads that automatically adjust to the content of the pages on which they reside. The Adsense ads pay when anyone clicks on any of them. Adsense offers fairly easy means of tracking your ads' success via their channel system too. This is crutial for optimizing for maximum "clickage".

eBay! is the leader in online auctioning and I most of us know several people that buy and maybe even sell things there. One of the critical things about choosing a good affiliate program is that they have products that are appropriate to your site. Well, consider eBay!, they have everything. Another is customer trust...they have that too. Ebay's Editor Tool Kit allows for display of items based on keyword search and this has been great for my celebrity sites.

This suprising gem can about by accident. I didn't think too much about it until I created a simple poster site and lo and behold I had poster sales. Here is a new one I'm looking into. It looks great, especially for blogs and websites using CMSs (Content Management Systems) such as Drupal, WordPress, PokeNuke, XOOPs or others. My cousin turned me on to it, saying it works very well on her website, Spoken-For.org.

7-15-07 : I've just begun using this program and they do pay as promised. Nice.
